An October wedding in Swoope at Four Winds at North Mountain - Jesse & George

A picturesque day was the setting on the hillside of Four Winds at North Mountain where Jesse and George were arriving as individuals but leaving as one. A beautiful unification of two hearts. Traditions and nerves were running high but that’s normal for some people. As always, I assured them that at the end of the day, it will be perfect, they will be married and I will do whatever it takes to make those things happen.

The time drew near and in the gentlemen’s quarters, the smiles and joy were running easy, like a smooth whiskey over cold ice. Friends are fixing collars and Dad is adjusting ties. It’s a big day for everyone.

While the ladies are inside the “bunk house”, there is no lack of smiles, selfies, and celebrations on their end either. It’s the hustle and bustle of hair spray, eye-liner and high heels that make this always remind me of a beehive when there’s always work to be done. It’s a beautiful symphony and a ‘ceremonial dance’ that always fascinates me. Mom is there to help with jewelry and the zipping of the dress, shoes, and shedding of tears – the happy ones.

Outside under the pavilion, where the reception takes place, there are elegant table settings and chairs for the plenty. The string lights are lit to help the mood once the sun dips down and a small army of wedding service providers ready to do what they do best.

The aisles of chairs are set across the lawn, facing the arbor and a charming scene that includes a lake off in the near distance. You couldn’t ask for much more.

The time came and George made his way, escorted by his father, to the arbor. Jesse arrived with grace and poise, down the aisle to meet her soon-to-be husband.

When the ‘I do’s’ became ‘I have’ the celebration begins with chatter and laughter, smiles and celebration. A wondrous celebration indeed. A bond had been made. A bond for life.

On a personal note, I greatly enjoyed taking care of Jesse & George. I look forward to telling their stories in the future, as their life, and maybe the family grows.
